Rödl has been participating in European Sustainable Development Week for several years now and, as part of this initiative, organises its own action week focusing on sustainability. The week is dedicated to the three central pillars of sustainability: environment, social and governance (ESG), which are also reflected in our commitment to sustainability. Sustainability Week offers our colleagues a wide range of opportunities to engage with current issues relating to sustainability, expand their knowledge, take action themselves, try out new things and rethink some of their habits.
The aim of the week is to provide impetus for sustainable thinking and action, whether in professional or private life. Lectures, workshops, digital offerings and interactive activities convey practical content that encourages reflection and highlights concrete implementation options. The topics range from climate and environmental protection to social responsibility and mental health to compliance and responsible corporate governance.
There is a particular focus on the individual responsibility of each person, which is made tangible as part of the #roedlsustainabilitychallenge. All colleagues are encouraged to set themselves individual sustainability goals. For now, it doesn’t matter whether the focus is on conscious consumer decisions, sustainable mobility or resource-saving behaviour in everyday life – the goal is to make an initial or possibly further sustainable change in everyday life. In this way, many small steps come together and we can bring about change easily and effectively together. During the week, digital learning formats such as quizzes and keynote speeches will also be offered to give us all a clear and informative understanding of the ESG concept. With additional contributions from internal sustainability management, employee testimonials and insights into ongoing projects and measures, we will not only become more familiar with the concept, but also strengthen the dialogue on sustainability at Rödl.
But the concept and mindset are also brought closer to us through culinary means. During Sustainability Week, Campino primarily offers vegetarian and increasingly vegan dishes prepared from seasonal and regional ingredients.
Sustainability Week has become an integral part of Rödl’s commitment and underlines that sustainability is more than just a short-term trend. Sustainable business practices and an environmentally friendly lifestyle are our shared responsibility, which we at Rödl want to continue to support and actively shape.
We would like to thank all our colleagues who participate in these programmes year after year with curiosity, commitment and openness, thereby helping to embed sustainable thinking in our corporate culture.
