Team spirit at the Via Carolina Lauf
The schedule is set: arrival on Friday with dinner in Prague, meeting at the Old Town Hall on Saturday afternoon – the programme could be straight out of a travel brochure, were it not for the start of a 32-hour running event, non-stop from the Czech capital to the Franconian metropolis – regardless of heat waves, storm fronts or thunderstorms.
For Rödl & Partner, participating in this run along the historic ‘Golden Road’ trade route is a matter of honour. The connection between Prague and Nuremberg has a special symbolic meaning for the company. Our first foreign branch was opened in Prague, and in keeping with our international consulting approach, team members from Germany, Czechia and other countries are standing together at the starting line today.
More than just 326 kilometres …
Incidentally, the run also served a good cause: ViaCarolinaRunning e.V. uses the event to collect donations under the motto ‘Running against cancer’.
After a joint group run across Charles Bridge, the first stage of the race began. The participants alternated between running and cycling along country roads, through villages and varied landscapes – always supported by the team in the support vehicle, who motivated, supplied and cheered them on.
The team spirit that is lived out every day at Rödl & Partner was particularly evident during the night hours: colleagues spontaneously stepped in for additional stages, switched flexibly between running and cycling routes, and supported each other on the way to the finish line.
When they arrived together at Nuremberg’s main market square, it wasn’t their placing that was important, but their team spirit. Because what makes this race so special is not so much the athletic performance as the sense of togetherness – the genuine team spirit that transcends boundaries and brings people together.
