What motivates you to work as an Audit Consultant?

What particularly appeals to me about my job as a consultant and auditor is the thematic complexity and depth in both areas. You gain an in-depth understanding of topics such as politics, economics and law. For someone like me, who studied political economy out of genuine passion, this is of course great and brings me a lot of joy.

How did you experience your first days/weeks at Rödl & Partner and were you happy with the onboarding process?

My first days and weeks at Rödl & Partner went as one would ideally wish. The onboarding was well structured and met my expectations exactly. Together with my manager and an assigned office buddy, we worked through checklists that included training on SuccessFactors and tours of the Cologne office. It was particularly great that I was able to take part in the Audit Academy in Nuremberg shortly after starting work in October 2023. There I met many new colleagues from all over Germany who were in the same situation. This exchange was incredibly valuable.

What does a typical working day look like, if there is one?

Every week, we have a team jour fixe where we discuss the previous week and plan the new week. Otherwise, we work in a structured way according to an annual project plan for various mandates. At the moment, I’m mainly concentrating on consulting activities, which I really enjoy. In the future, however, I will also gain more insight into traditional auditing.

In the public sector, we don’t have a classic “busy season” like in other areas. The workload is relatively constant throughout the year and I usually work from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. I really like this structure.

What do you particularly like about your work?

What I particularly like about my work is the opportunity to constantly learn new and exciting things. The job is demanding, but at the same time quiet, so you can deal with a topic for a long time and intensively without being constantly interrupted. At least most of the time 😉.
