European Sustainable Development Week 2023

For the fourth year in a row, Rödl & Partner took part in the European Sustainable Development Week, during which colleagues dedicated a week to sustainable development.

This year, the focus of the action week was on the three topics of Environment, Social, Governance (ESG). At the start, Sarah Schmidt, Head of the CSR Department at Rödl & Partner, introduced the question: How does Rödl & Partner live sustainability? Where do we stand and what steps do we still have to take in the future as part of the transformation process?

During the Environment Day, Rödl & Partner employees had the opportunity to test e-cars at the head office in Nuremberg. There were four models to choose from: the Cupra Born, the VW ID.4, the KIA EV6 and the Audi Q8 e-tron 55. Not only company car drivers were able to gain practical experience during the test drive, but also anyone who would like to rely on e-mobility in their private life. In addition, our employees received valuable practical tips during the impulse lecture “Your own photovoltaic system on the roof or balcony – a personal contribution of each individual to the energy turnaround” by Carolin Kühn.

The “Social” action day focused on employee welfare, which has a high priority at Rödl & Partner as a caretaker. In order to bring the topic of healthy eating closer to all our employees across Germany, we provided them with a digital lecture on the topic of “Sustainable and healthy eating” in collaboration with the “Techniker Krankenkasse”. In addition, Nina Feller and Judith Moneke-Schmidt shared impulses on the topic of “Sustainable Leadership”. After all, trustworthy relationships are essential for good teamwork and pay off in the long run.

The final event was the action day on the topic of governance. Fabian Jeremias gave an insight into the area of governance and compliance with his presentation “Whistleblowing – Stress Test for the Company”. The topic became tangible with case studies about sexual harassment in the workplace. How does a company deal with this? How do you integrate reporting channels in a targeted manner to address this issue?

This year’s action week was also accompanied by our recurring #roedlsustainabilitychallenge. For one week, our colleagues made conscious and sustainable decisions by taking on individual challenges. As a gift for their commitment, they received a thank-you box filled with sustainable products.
