Tax Starters: A guide for career starters
Origin and objectives of Tax Starters
The Tax Starters program was developed within a project group as part of the Tax Summit. Our aim is to provide our young professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills for a successful start at Rödl & Partner. The focus is not only on professional qualifications, but also on promoting soft skills, getting to know our corporate culture and networking within the company.
Target group and content
Tax Starters is aimed at all newcomers to the tax consultancy profession within their first three years at Rödl & Partner. The content of the program is carefully tailored to the needs and requirements of tax consultancy. In addition to specialist seminars such as the Tax Campus and the Accounting and Tax Day, we also offer personal development training that promotes communication skills, time management and self-reflection.
Participation and difference to SmartUp
Participation in Tax Starters includes a series of mandatory seminars to ensure a uniform level of knowledge. However, career starters also have the opportunity to freely select seminars together with their manager and design their own personal learning path. In contrast, SmartUp is our additional development program for talented individuals in the tax consulting, BPO and legal consulting business areas.
The interview with Anna Traut, a participant in the “Tax Starters” program at Rödl & Partner, illustrates the targeted promotion of young professionals in tax consulting.
What added value does Tax Starters, our tax consultancy trainee program, offer you personally?
The program offers specific content for your own professional and personal development. In addition to mandatory seminars, there is a wide range of other content that you can choose according to your own needs and that has provided me with suitable learning content for my career start and thus made it easier for me to start my career. The seminars also gave me the valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and network with like-minded colleagues.
What content was particularly helpful for you?
For me personally, the workshop on the basics of confident communication was very helpful, as it was tailored to the daily challenges in tax consulting, for example in difficult client meetings, and I was able to further develop my own communication skills. The seminar on effective research also provided step-by-step instructions and valuable tips for successful and effective research.
